| Excel expand digital offering |

Excel Publishing Company which has offices in Manchester, Leeds and Stockport is to create 25 new jobs with the expansion of its online and events operations. The jobs will be in web design, web journalism, event organisation and sales. Excel online is being rebranded as Excel Digital and will offer multi-platform expertise including internet television and radio. The company's events operation which currently organises awards for both Excel magazines and outside clients is to expand into conferencing and exhibitions. Its first major conference, Timber in Construction, is to be held in September at Old Trafford Football ground. Rachel McCormick will lead Excel Digital, while David Ward will be responsible for Excel Events. Gus Mackenzie, Excel's operations director, said the changes would allow the company to build quickly on its existing expertise in both areas. "Excel already has a number of market-leading websites and events. This expansion is a natural progression for the company. We are developing products which will push this company to the forefront of our various markets." |
