| New head of sales and operations for Excel |

Gus Mackenzie, previously the managing director of radio station Key 103, has taken up the role of sales and operations director at Excel Publishing.
Gus Mackenzie boasts a considerable pedigree in commercial radio, established over the course of almost a decade in the business. In that time he was managing director of Independent Radio Group in Scotland and then MD at Paisley’s QFM and Dundee’s Wave 102. He joined Emap in 2001 as MD of Sheffield’s Hallam FM and then moved across the Pennines to take the reigns at Key 103, Magic 1152 and The Hits. Prior to his radio tenure Mackenzie was general sales manager at London’s Universe publications, managed the bus advertising division of Primesight and set up, and sold, Metrobus Advertising Limited. Excel MD Patrick Rafter said: “We’re delighted to have someone with such an exceptional track record joining Excel."
